Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shkurtoje (the "Service"), a URL shortening and link management platform. By creating an account, shortening a link, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Shkurtoje lets you:

• Create shortened links from long URLs, with optional custom endings, passwords, and expiration dates.
• Generate QR codes for your links.
• View click analytics, referrer, device, and geographic data for links you own.
• Connect and use custom domains for branded short links.
• Manage links in bulk, including CSV import/export.
• Access the Service programmatically via an API key.
• Subscribe to paid plans that unlock higher usage limits and additional features, billed and processed through Stripe.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and some features may only be available on certain plans.

2. Accounts

To use most features of the Service you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

We may offer email verification, two-factor authentication, and sign-in via third-party identity providers (OAuth). You are responsible for keeping the credentials and devices used to access your account secure.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to create or distribute links that:

• Point to malware, phishing pages, or other content designed to harm users or systems.
• Facilitate spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, or fraudulent schemes.
• Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Contain content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or exploitative, including of minors.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security controls, or usage quotas of the Service.

We use automated checks (including third-party safe-browsing services) and may manually review reported links. We reserve the right to disable, redirect, or delete any link, and to suspend or terminate any account, that we believe violates these Terms, without prior notice.

4. Link Reporting

Visitors may report a shortened link as abusive or harmful. We review reports and may disable a link pending or following investigation. Submitting knowingly false reports is prohibited.

5. Custom Domains

If you connect a custom domain, you are responsible for owning or controlling that domain and for correctly configuring its DNS records to point to our infrastructure. We are not responsible for domain registration, renewal, or DNS issues outside our systems.

6. Subscriptions, Billing & API Usage

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for the applicable fees. Prices, plan limits, and features are described on our Pricing page and may change with notice. You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.

API access is subject to the request quotas of your plan. We may throttle or suspend API keys that exceed their quota or are used in a way that degrades the Service for other users.

7. Advertising & Third-Party Content

Free use of the Service may be supported by advertising, including interstitial pages shown before a redirect, and ads served through third-party networks. Advertisements are provided by third parties and we do not control their content. See our Privacy Policy for details on related data collection.

8. Your Content & License

You retain ownership of the URLs and content you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and redirect that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You are solely responsible for the destination content of any link you create.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or fail to pay applicable fees. Upon termination, your links may stop resolving and associated data may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, or that any destination content linked through the Service is safe, accurate, or lawful.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shkurtoje shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
